Frequently
asked Questions about the Robomow How
on earth does it know where to go? Its
onboard software is programmed to recognise the special wire running invisibly
round the lawn edge. It can work out the shape and size of the lawn and ensure
every inch is cut. Can
it cut the grass when its wet? The
Robomow is so powerful that it is the only automatic lawnmower capable of cutting
long grass even in Ireland's wet conditions. How
much does it cut on a single charge? The
RL550 will cut the size of 1.5 tennis courts (300 sq metres) on a single charge.
The RL1000 will cut the size of 3 tennis courts (600 sq metres) on a single charge
but is suitable for lawns up to 2000 sq metres. How
long does it take to charge? Each
machine requires a 20 hour charge before operating again, however, an external
battery charger is currently available at extra cost. This will fully charge the
battery within 6 hours. Where
do the grass clippings go? Robomow
is a dedicated mulching lawnmower with three dedicated mulching chambers and high-speed
blades. When a lawnmower mulches the grass it cuts it up into many small fragments
before evenly depositing it back onto the lawn. The fine clipping then fall through
the grass onto the lawn's surface returning all the nutrients back to the lawn.
As a result there are no smelly piles of rotting grass at the bottom of the garden
and you have a greener and healthier lawn. What
about flower beds and ponds? The
Robomow stays within the wire round the edge of the lawn. It cannot cross over
and stray into other areas. If your flowerbed is in the centre of the lawn then
when laying the perimeter wire simply bring the wire out to and around the flowerbed
and then back to the perimeter. Robomow will not see the wires where they are
side-by-side going to and from the flowerbed. All it will see is the wire around
the flowerbed thus protecting the flowerbed. How
can I help the environment and why should I change from a petrol mower A
conventional petrol lawn mower can pollute as much
as 34 cars in one hour according to
the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The US are considering fitting
catalytic converters to petrol driven garden equipment by 2010 What
happens to the wire after I install it? Can you see it? Will I trip over it? The
plastic coated wire is hammered flush with the lawn and simply disappears within
a couple of weeks as the grass grows over it. Your Robomow is the only one who
can tell it is there. What
if I cannot install the wire and set it up myself? We
can arrange to install the unit for a fee between €70 and €450.00 plus
VAT. The exact fee will depend on your location and the size and complexity of
your lawn. How
do I get a cut at the lawn edge? Just
press the GO button on Robomow and it will make a special circuit round the wire,
trimming to the very edge. When it is finished, it will automatically start mowing
the rest of your lawn. Is
it safe? Yes.
It has multiple safety sensors and automatic cut out protection. Does
it work on slopes? Yes.
Up to 15° for the RL550 and 20° - 25° for the RL1000 depending on
ground conditions. Will
I be able to give up my old mower? Yes.
Try the Robomow and you'll never want to go back.
Does it have a guarantee?

or uneven lawns and can cut an area up to 1/4 acre The RL1000 is fully automatic
